Jericoacoara, tourist village located in northeastern Brazil, near the Ecuador, in the state of Ceará. It was, until 15 years ago, a small fishing village. There were no asphalt roads, electricity, telephones, newspapers or television.

The last 15 km to reach Jericoacoara are composed by dunes. In 1984 the Washington Post Magazine (in a special traveling edition) named Jericoacoara as one of the 10 world's most beautiful beaches.
